Nutrition Corner

Always Curious what really is Nutrition and Why should everyone have basic understanding of it?

One thing that we have focused while creating RECHARGE SUPERFOODS, is that we want to set a high standards and do not compromise on quality. We use the best, the most unheard and expensive ingredients and have created a blend with the assistance of Nutritionist, Dietician and Health Professionals.

You will notice, each product of our creation has some unique element all balance together to create a most beneficial recipe which is great for every individuals health and which will make us different from other competitors out there.

We wanted to change the perception of How Smoothies are consumed and What it really meant to do with your body.

Simply blending bunch of fruits (and veggies if goes well with your taste buds) is not going to let you lead an optimum lifestyle but when you mix them up with Superfood powders such as Spirulina, Dates, Walnut, Chia seeds, Maca, Mesquite, Protein Powder and many more like we do, it will benefit you in many ways like gaining energy, enhancing mood, improving bone and joints, fat burning, skin glowing, cleaning gut and other diseases just to name a few.

We believe that our SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIES are genuinely HEALTHY and one of a kind? And here is why we say that?
One Of A Kind

You don't expect to be told that here, but most smoothies or juices aren't particularly good for you. Often, they only contain fruit, little or no fiber and added sugars. In short, these are sweet drinks marketed as Healthy. Whether its in the Supermarket or at Cafe.

Our smoothies are different because they all contain a good dose of fiber (seeds, fruits, veggies, coconut, cocoa etc), vegetable proteins (nuts, seeds, superfood powders etc) and good fats (avocado, coconut, nuts etc) which all 3, in addition to their respective health benefits, help lower the glycemic index and therefore slow the absorption of sugars in the blood.

Fibre is probably the most overlooked nutrient and yet the most powerful for our health.
1. Fibre Content

Fibre is even more essential when consuming liquid drinks. Unlike juice extractors, the action of blending preserves 100% of the precious fibres.

All of our smoothies are designed to contain at least 5g of dietary fibre for a snack and at least 8g for breakfast.

We also take care to respect a “Fibre / Carbohydrate” ratio of at least 20%.

Our fibres come from fruits, vegetables, seeds (chia, flax, squash, hemp), cereals, pure cocoa and of course superfoods (maca, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, goji berries).

Fibre helps to regulate blood sugar, facilitate transit, detoxify, reduce cholesterol, contribute to the diversity of the Intestinal microbiome and have a strong Satiating power.

Proteins are essential for our bodies, they help to keep skin and muscles toned
2. Vegetable Protein Content

Proteins are essential for the proper functioning of our body and their satiating power makes them an essential element.

In terms of shape and beauty, they help in muscle recovery and keep skin and muscles toned.

These proteins come only from natural ingredients such as nuts (almonds, pistachios, walnuts etc) seeds (hemp, sesame, flax, chia), pure cocoa or even cereals.

In short, 15 to 25% of the calories in our smoothies come from protein.

Without going into excess, fats are a great fuel for the body with a strong satiating power.
3. Good Fats Content

After being wrongly demonised, fats (even saturated) come back in force as proven by the success of ketogenic diets.

Our goal is to always include a dose of good fats (avocado, coconut oil, oilseeds, etc.) which, in addition to providing you with energy, give our smoothies an unparalleled creaminess.

To be precise, about 20-35% of the calories in our smoothies come from “good” fats.

Sugars present in our smoothies are all natural and come mainly from fresh or dried fruits (dates).
4. Sugars & Glycemic Index

We make sure that our smoothies do not contain more than 5% sugars and / or 15g sugar per smoothie, which is much less than most smoothies offered in stores or bars.

We achieve this by limiting the proportion of fruit in our preparations (50-65%) and by integrating vegetables (cauliflower, zucchini), proteins and good fats.

But what matters more than the amount of sugars you eat is how quickly it will pass into your blood and the spikes in blood sugar it will cause (fat storage signals).

This is why we take care to maintain a low Glycemic Index.
